Now this garden thing is real. I am not there to architect - but there is a gardening thing in Occupational therapy that we got Pop so he could garden in a wheelchair. Knock out roses will grow anywhere - Is container gardening a consideration. I would love to help desing containers - being an avid gardener - whatever I can do to help in this regard even from afar -Liz von Kesslerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10845788541398428879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-89614462132706308702009-02-20T09:04:00.000-08:002009-02-20T09:04:00.000-08:00Dear Brooke:This is my first ever blog entry. They help me to understand, if only in part, the ups and the downs, the agony and the ecstasy, if you will, of this very hard life you now live. So happy to be hopeful and optimistic with you, the twitching info is fascinating….
I admire and love you very much.

Love, SydneyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09578295437013644953noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-56650003562601497462009-02-19T12:06:00.000-08:002009-02-19T12:06:00.000-08:00Everyone here at the ACLU of Utah is wishing you b...Everyone here at the ACLU of Utah is wishing you both the best, Brooke and Peggy. I hope it has lessened some recently, and the news of some sensation in different areas is of course wonderful. It's good to have the news, as always, even when troubling.
Melanie's just returned from a difficult week in Boston helping her 94 yr old father let go, a blessing him for him, and for her. Makes the blessing of other ongoing life, particularly the wonder of our own grandchildren even more poignant and important.
It's great to hear you're thinking of the garden space and how to adapt it. I look forward to seeing it, and you both, hopefully before long. So glad the "Compline" found a useful space. Much love from all in Santa Fe,

Ed and Melanieed ranneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08812699214773024241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-46915842408236734302009-02-17T10:04:00.000-08:002009-02-17T10:04:00.000-08:00Dear Brooke and Peggy --I agree that the recent po...Dear Brooke and Peggy --
I agree that the recent posts have pushed the Hopeful Momentum to a sort of Unbridled Optimism. I have noted that it seems at times that "Optimism" needs to be contained to some extent. That's what intelligent people do, right? We tend to look at "unbridled optimism" as sort of naive. (Think of people you know, who exude this - we always sort of want to protect them from what we believe is inevitable harm...) but your comments on Optimism have me thinking...WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE? I would LOVE for all of us to take off the "be smart, be cautious, don't be too hopeful" hats and just absolutely BELIEVE that the signs you're seeing are absolute signs of HOPE.

I'm changing hats today. I'm taking off the "Okay, looks good, but don't get too excited yet," hat, and putting on the "I am SO EXCITED!!!! I will risk disappointment in the face of Unbridled OPTIMISM!!!!" hat. (It's a big hat, and leans a little to the left, still...)
I BELIEVE. I will not STOP BELIEVING. Twitch away, Brooke -- it sounds like you're being Born Again.
And I thank both of you for the umpteenth time for taking us all on this journey with you.

I don't know anything about gardening. Damn.

I love you both,
Brenda CowleyBrenda Cowleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16653151964969098937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-29297485889288736832009-02-16T17:54:00.000-08:002009-02-16T17:54:00.000-08:00Yup. The excerpt on the purpose of twitching is fascinating. Perhaps the possibilities it suggests helps make the twitching, even the pain, more bearable.

It’s hard to be so far away, unable to visit or talk with you. (Nor does it help that we’re so far out in the back of beyond that my internet connection is unreliable.) And I appreciate that you can’t post every day. Still, I wish I could convey how much I look forward to each report. Your blog is among the first things I check each morning – assuming I have a connection. Like so many others, I’m with you as you make optimism your ally through each painful spasm.

Brooke, you’ve never done anything harder or anything more important. I applaud your courage.Lorraine Sealhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01497806391999639680noreply@blogger.com
