What a wonderful piece to me...Hi Brooke and Peggy,

What a wonderful piece to meditate on, over the New Year, and how true to the situation, which is truly a heroic ordeal, but one with all kinds of insights, emotional returns, if we can but be open to them. I think all of us who follow your blog are so thankful for these well conceived postings precisely because it is clear that they help you, and us, to keep this journey in an historic, literary, and deeply human perspective. And to trust in the future. Rare in our times. Thank you both for the effort, and insights.

Love and all best for 2010,

Ed and familyed ranneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08812699214773024241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-67902381983547459382010-01-01T05:40:32.839-08:002010-01-01T05:40:32.839-08:00This is the morning of a new year and a new decade...This is the morning of a new year and a new decade - celebrating our little divisions of time into neat categories. We glibly go around saying happy new year to all we meet. With the two of you obviously a simple Happy New Year just doesn't do it. We would wish that the year - and soon - sees you back at M street, sees continued improvement in what limbs you're able to wiggle, and sees you refining and claryifing the myth. Nan and I wish you the very best, with our love.

NormNormhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00885947008111366471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-1291754527763948512009-12-31T18:46:40.897-08:002009-12-31T18:46:40.897-08:00Dear Brooke

Picking music and audio books. A call to Peggy. We help you enter your day as you help us enter ours. Sometimes I hold your head as I help to position you in bed for the trake mask session and we look deeply into each other's eyes. I'm pretty sure that what we see is love. We've come to know each other much better this past year and a friendship has developed that I treasure as much as any I've ever had. You are one of my heroes Brooke. I so admire your courage, your guts. Your wondrous mind and great soul. Yours is one of the most difficult journeys I've ever seen. You've grown this past year. You've suffered too. I have great hope that the new year brings many wonderful advances. I hope it brings you home and off the vent but wherever your path leads, Mary and I will walk as much of it with you as we can. I love you brother. Happy New Year!
PatrickPatrick Zwickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01761166225049683507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7569355678882263943.post-18851824010572574092009-12-31T10:09:43.231-08:002009-12-31T10:09:43.231-08:00Brooke and Peggy
